Stop by the library to view some awesome books that celebrate diversity. Throughout the library there are several displays that offer biographies about athletes, authors, great thinkers, people with perseverance, leaders, musicians, men, and women. In celebration of Black History Month, we also have a special section of biographies about famous African Americans. The students have checked out these books in amazing numbers! Pictured below are some of Mrs. Verzosa's first grade students after finding their "just right" book.

Kindergarten learns about being CONFIDENT!
Today the Kindergarten classes learned about what it means to feel confident! While we read the book Feel Confident by Cheri J. Meiners, we discussed the different things we CAN do. Several students were proud that they CAN slide on tall slides, ride their bike, write their name, and listen to their teacher. Each student wrote a sentence stating what they CAN do! The first student pictured below is Audrey Abron from Mrs. Nichol's class. The next students are Payton Turner and Kasie White from Mrs. Bagley's class.
